Since 1972 Nationwide Youth Round-up (NYR) has been dedicated to inspiring teenagers to love Jesus with their whole heart. We are grateful to the parents, youth leaders and churches that have trusted us to be part of their children’s/student’s spiritual walk. In light of that gratitude and trust, we want to explain our plan for NYR 2020 during this pandemic caused by COVID-19. We understand this is an evolving situation, but we want to be as proactive as possible.
First things first, as of now, NYR 2020 is happening. For that, we praise God! That said, we want to be as cautious and sensitive to the current global state as possible. We are currently working with two different plans of how NYR 2020 could look.
One of our top priorities for NYR is to be a safe and secure experience for those attending. Therefore, we are currently monitoring Colorado’s and Douglas County’s reopening plan. They are currently moving toward phase 1. If restrictions are lifted and our board feels it is wise, we will go with Plan 1 as listed below.
Details of Plan #1: NYR on the Mountain
June 1 – Registration opens. The registration pricing for 5th grade and up is $80 if registered by July 1.
June 15 – Guidelines for a safe week will be detailed and available.
July 2 – Registration for 5th grade and up increases to $90
Details of Plan #2: VIRTUAL NYR
This plan would go into place due to Colorado’s and Douglas County’s reopening plan being at a phase where it would not be advised for us to gather at NYR’s Round-up Ranch. NYR 2020 would be virtual. NYR would stream the evening sessions with Josh Howerton and band with our current main speakers. Registration for churches to have the streaming link would be for a cost for $800. More info for families or individuals to purchase streaming will be made available if we move to Plan 2.
As June approaches, we will continue to give updates as situations change.
Thank you for allowing us to partner in ministry with you. We are praying daily for our churches as they continue to minister to their communities, for our country and world as we grieve those lost and healing for those recovering. Each household has unique obstacles and we are praying that Christ will be the center, regardless of the situation.
Romans 12:12 – Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
